Elise Haylett is a rising senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Psychology with a Business Concentration and minoring in Marketing and Statistics from Brooklyn, NY. She currently works as an office assistant in the Multicultural Student Development Office. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the president of the Black Student Association on App State’s campus. She is also a peer mentor for underrepresented and marginalized students apart of the ASCEND Supplemental Orientation Program housed by the Multicultural Student Development Office. 

Elise is currently apart of an Industrial/Organizational & Human Resource Management (IOHRM) Research team with graduate students learning SAS Coding and researching college aspirations in high school students of rural high school areas. She is looking to enroll in the Industrial/Organizational Master’s Program at New York University. Her ultimate career goal is to create a workplace that is better and more diverse for individuals working at a company. She wants to implement programs that will have an effective organizational structure to optimize the flow of work and encourage employees to ha [Field]ve longevity at a company.” 

Christian Ampo is a senior at San Diego State University. He is currently working towards a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology. In his university, Christian is currently a research assistant for the Psychology of Organizational Well being and Effectiveness Research (POWER) lab. Through his lab, he has worked on independent projects that have developed into a full manuscript about workplace stressors of nurse managers and an oral presentation about the effect of lunch break pressures and perceptions on worker well-being. As a research assistant, he also provides support and assistance to the graduate students in POWER lab working towards their thesis. Christian also serves as the president and former treasurer of Psi Chi International Society. As an executive officer for two years, he has been instrumental to the execution of the mission and goals of Psi Chi throughout his university. During his leadership tenure, his chapter has also been the recipient of multiple university-wide and Psi Chi awards, which includes: Student Success Fee grant, Kay Wilson Officer Team Leadership award, and Florence L. Denmark Faculty Advisor award. After graduation, Christian is determined to pursue a doctoral degree in I/O Psychology with aspirations to explore and research the various facets of organizational development.  

Asia Harrison is a senior at University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is currently completing a Bachelor’s in Psychology, with the goal to pursue a doctoral degree in Organizational Science. Asia spends her time outside of class being involved in a variety of extracurricular activities.  She is a research assistant with Dr. Charlton, the Associate Professor & Department chair of Psychology at her institution.  She is currently working on a study that focuses on the Norwegian Prisons & Religiosity. She also has worked on Professor Evaluation and Women’s Use of Language study while being a research assistant. She enjoys her position as a research assistant because it gives her the opportunity to build relationship with department faculty and understand how to apply textbook research techniques to real life, She is also part of the Psychology Club, Circle K, and North Carolina Industrial & Organizational Psychologists. She is a LEAD Fellow on campus.  LEAD Fellows is an organization on campus that promotes leadership, collaboration, and purpose through peer to peer education based on the Social Change Model of Leadership.  Her interests include leadership development, organizational development, and diversity. She plans to implement these interests not only in her career, but in her daily life as well. 

Yolanda Blavo is a senior majoring in Psychology (I-O track) at the University of Central Florida. At UCF, she is an undergraduate teaching assistant for Industrial Organizational Psychology. For the past two years, she has worked part time as a Preschool teacher in Maitland, Florida. Her responsibilities include taking care of children from six weeks to six years old and training new employees. Additionally, she serves as the Editorial Assistant for International Health Initiatives, Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps underserved populations around the world. As a member of this organization, she has recruited new volunteers and developed her own project to help provide meals to an orphanage in Tafi Atome, Ghana. Her research interests include organizational culture, work life balance and socialization. Yolanda plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Ultimately, she aspires to become an organizational development consultant in the future.
