Ian Barrett

Ian Barrett is a junior, Sociology major with a concentration in education from Philadelphia, PA, currently attending Morehouse College. As a junior, Ian serves in various leadership roles on campus including being the President of the Morehouse College NAACP and the Executive Director for the Atlanta University Center Philadelphia Club HBCU High School Tour, where he leads HBCU students from Philadelphia to talk to and encourage high school students across Philadelphia to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Within education, Ian feels that teaching will be the most impactful way to change the lives of the students of tomorrow. Directly following graduation, Ian plans to pursue earning his doctorate in Sociology with focuses in education and organizational behavior. 

Erik Castro

Erik Castro, born in Havana, Cuba and moved to New Jersey when he was eight years old. He is a junior at Fairleigh Dickinson University, majoring in Psychology. He will attend graduate school in pursuit of a degree in Industrial Organizational psychology.  He hopes to earn a PhD in the Organizational Science field in order to continue to rise in the ranks as an Industrial Organizational Consultant. 

Elise Haylett

Elise Haylett is a rising senior at Appalachian State University majoring in Psychology with a Business Concentration and minoring in Marketing and Statistics from Brooklyn, NY. She currently works as an office assistant in the Multicultural Student Development Office. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the president of the Black Student Association on App State’s campus. She is also a peer mentor for underrepresented and marginalized students apart of the ASCEND Supplemental Orientation Program housed by the Multicultural Student Development Office. 

Elise is currently apart of an Industrial/Organizational & Human Resource Management (IOHRM) Research team with graduate students learning SAS Coding and researching college aspirations in high school students of rural high school areas. She is looking to enroll in the Industrial/Organizational Master’s Program at New York University. Her ultimate career goal is to create a workplace that is better and more diverse for individuals working at a company. She wants to implement programs that will have an effective organizational structure to optimize the flow of work and encourage employees to ha [Field]ve longevity at a company.” 

Christian Ampo

Christian Ampo is a senior at San Diego State University. He is currently working towards a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology. In his university, Christian is currently a research assistant for the Psychology of Organizational Well being and Effectiveness Research (POWER) lab. Through his lab, he has worked on independent projects that have developed into a full manuscript about workplace stressors of nurse managers and an oral presentation about the effect of lunch break pressures and perceptions on worker well-being. As a research assistant, he also provides support and assistance to the graduate students in POWER lab working towards their thesis. Christian also serves as the president and former treasurer of Psi Chi International Society. As an executive officer for two years, he has been instrumental to the execution of the mission and goals of Psi Chi throughout his university. During his leadership tenure, his chapter has also been the recipient of multiple university-wide and Psi Chi awards, which includes: Student Success Fee grant, Kay Wilson Officer Team Leadership award, and Florence L. Denmark Faculty Advisor award. After graduation, Christian is determined to pursue a doctoral degree in I/O Psychology with aspirations to explore and research the various facets of organizational development.
