At its core, the goal of the Dr. Shawn Long Organizational Science Institute is to prepare our Fellows for successful careers in the social and behavioral sciences. The time that Fellows spend with our team is immensely valuable, but their academic and professional success afterward is even more meaningful.

OS INSTITUTE ALUMNAE FEATURED IN
HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW
Two OS Institute alumnae, Dr. Ella Washington and Dr. Courtney McCluney, have been featured in Harvard Business Review in 2020.
Dr. Washington coauthored “U.S. Businesses Must Take Meaningful Action against Racism.” Dr. Washington is a Professor of Practice at Georgetown University, where she examines inclusivity in workplace cultures, diversity, equity, and individual employee development.
Dr. McCluney has written two features with her colleagues, “Working from Home while Black” and “How U.S. Companies Can Support Employees of Color through the Pandemic.” Dr. McCluney is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) at Cornell University. Her research focuses on marginalization practices in the workplace that perpetuate inequality for underrepresented groups.
