Stephany Canela, Baruch College, City University of New York
I am a senior at Baruch College majoring in Psychology and minoring in New Media Arts. I am a part of the Baruch Psychology Club, and I am a part of the social media committee designing flyers. Through expanding my knowledge in the psychology field and socializing with my club members, I learned about Industrial Organizational psychology. The topics that I am intrigued about is Employee recruitment, hiring. promotion, work stress and health.
Omajuwa Etiwe, Texas A&M University – College Station
I am currently a junior at Texas A&M University. I am majoring in Psychology and am on track to graduate with the Work and Organizations certificate. I am also a current Track and Field Athlete here at Texas A&M. Upon graduating from undergrad, I plan to pursue getting my masters in I/O psychology at A&M. I am currently an undergraduate research assistant in the distracted driving lab here at A&M as well. I am interested in work-life balance, employee motivation/burnout, workplace environment, and interpersonal relationships in the workplace.
Brea Fields, College of Charleston
Brea Fields is a Class of 2023 graduate from the College of Charleston. She graduated Cum laude and received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership for Sustainability. During her time at the College, Brea was a Student Voting Member on the Honor Board, President of the Alpha Omega Campus Ministry, and Class of 2023 College of Charleston Schottland Scholar. She currently works for JB Business Solutions as a bookkeeping and payroll consultant and participates as a swim instructor at Charleston Swim School in her spare time. Brea is in the process of applying for Ph.D. programs this winter in hopes of entering the 2024 fall semester as a doctoral candidate studying management and organizational behavior. Her current research interests include employee readiness for leadership development, power dynamics, and DEI within the workplace.
Kimberly Hernandez, University of LaVerne
Kimberly Hernandez is a recent graduate from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Since graduating, Kimberly has worked on various political campaigns; canvassing and advocating for elected officials such as Gavin Newsom. Kimberly has also worked at various non-profit organizations focusing on immigrant rights, environmental justice, and civic engagement. Kimberly hopes to continue their education and pursue a Master of Science in Leadership and Management or a Master in Business Administration. In the future, Kimberly hopes to be able to lead an organization and focus on diversifying the business field. Kimberly is passionate about creating positive change in their local community and helping others.
Destiny Humphrey, College of Charleston
Destiny Humphrey is a senior at the College of Charleston. She is double majoring in Arts Management and Marketing with a minor in Entrepreneurship. On top of academics, Destiny is heavily involved around campus. She is one of the directors for the School of Business Student Ambassador Program and an Arts Management student ambassador. Every semester she has participated in the dance concerts presented by the College’s Department of Theatre and Dance. Additionally, Destiny was honored to be selected as the undergraduate representative for the School of Business Dean Search Committee. Upon graduation, she would like to obtain a master’s degree either in Business Administration or Arts Administration. She is passionate about the performing arts, specifically dance, and hopes to make strides in the arts and culture sector as an executive director! Destiny is interested in the following research topics: DEI, Strategic Planning, Nonprofit Organization Effectiveness, and Employee Appreciation
Mackenzie Markham, Minnesota State University, Mankato
Mackenzie Markham is a senior at Minnesota State University, Mankato pursuing her bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She is a member of Psi–Chi, Phi Sigma Pi, a peer tutor for her Universities Psychology department, volunteers at her Universities student food self, and other organizations across campus. Mackenzie also works full time for Habilitative Services, Inc where she takes care of, as well as growing independence within vulnerable adults. Her research interests include women in leadership in the workplace, empowering and diversifying the workplace, effective management strategies, and job satisfaction. Mackenzie is planning on furthering her education through a master’s program within the realm of Industrial–Organizational Psychology.
Nardos Shiferaw, Washington State University
I am Nardos Shiferaw, currently a student full time. I am originally from Ethiopia, East Africa. I was born and raised there and moved to the US 4 years back with my family. It was a little challenging at first to adapt to a new lifestyle here but thankfully I adapted quite quickly joined school and it has been great since then. I am doing psychology and biology in the pre -med track but research, clinical psychology and public health now have my interest and I am working to get on track. I have always been interested in the medical field, I want to work in public health and hospital administrations and clinical psychology. Research interests: Gender roles, Dreams, Bioethics, Romance, Clinical Psychology and Public Health
Seth Smith, Old Dominion University
Seth Smith is a current junior at Old Dominion University, double majoring in Management and Industrial Engineering. Seth is a member of the Perry Honors College, a CIVIC Scholars member, as well as a Resident Advisor on campus. Seth currently is conducting research on Scent and the Impact it has on Employee productivity within the workplace. Additionally this summer he will be working alongside an ODU faculty member to conduct research on Gamified Hiring Assessments. Seth’s research interests include workplace productivity, “AI and the workplace,” business development, etc. After completion of Undergraduate studies, Seth has aspirations to attend graduate school.
Kyah Starks, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical University
Kyah Starks is a rising senior studying Criminal Justice at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She is currently working full-time as a Teacher Assistant at Washington Montessori School in Greensboro, NC. She was inducted into the Eta Upsilon Chapter of the Alpha Phi Sigma, Criminal Justice Honors Society and will serve as the 2023-24 president. She also works with the North Carolina A&T State University Mock Trial Team. Born and raised in Charlotte, she is thrilled to return to her home city to work with mentors and other doctoral students and professors to explore the options of graduate school. After completion of undergraduate degree, Kyah seeks to pursue a master’s in Criminal Justice.
Elana White, College of Charleston
Elana White is a rising senior at the College of Charleston and is majoring in Psychology. She is involved in multiple clubs at her college including the Psychology Club, Psi Chi, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Eta Sigma, NSLS, and she is in CofC’s first class of Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society. Elana loves being involved on campus and has totaled 63 hours of community service! She works as a private statistics tutor and a research assistant for multiple CofC professors, and she enjoys traveling to psychological conferences to present her findings. Elana is still exploring her career options but has narrowed them down to either I/O Psychology or Clinical Psychology. Either way, she plans on pursuing her doctorate within the next couple of years. Research interests: I/O psychology, clinical psychology, and psychology in the workplace.
