Eligibility Requirements
To meet the minimum requirements to become a Fellow, you must…
- Be a student with the potential to make significant contributions to the field of organizational science but may lack the necessary resources or connections.
- Have an interest in studying organizations or work (either from an I/O, sociology, psychology, communications, or management perspective).
- Have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or higher, preferred.
- Have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours by the time they plan to attend the Institute (i.e., qualify as at least a rising Junior or Senior undergraduate student). Applicants who have already completed their bachelor’s degree are also eligible to attend if they are not currently applying to graduate schools or have not already been accepted into a graduate program.
- Plan to further their education via graduate school.
- Have NOT started, or been accepted to, a graduate program.
- Are NOT applying to graduate schools until after attending the Institute.
Application Materials
All application materials are due by February 28.
Please note that only complete applications will be considered for admission. A complete application includes the following:
- Two 500-word Essays (submitted as one document)
- Essay #1 – Career Aspirations & Challenges: In 500 words, describe your career goals and interest in attending graduate school.
- In your response, discuss how the OS Institute aligns with your aspirations and how it could help you overcome challenges you have faced, such as a lack of opportunities, resources, or connections.
- Essay #2 – Interest in Organizational Science: In 500 words, explain your interest in studying organizations and work. What excites you about this field, and how do you hope to contribute?
- If applicable, reflect on how your background, experiences, or perspectives inform your interest in this study area.
- Essay #1 – Career Aspirations & Challenges: In 500 words, describe your career goals and interest in attending graduate school.
- Online Recommendation Form (Optional)
- To be completed by one recommender of your choosing.

We do not require applicants to send their academic transcripts with their application materials, but we may request them at a later date. No action is needed on your part unless we notify you otherwise.
